Our Story

"A landlord, a sonographer, and a builder walked into an old, disused building..."It sounds like the beginning of an old joke—but it's actually the story of how The Radiology Company came to life.

The journey began in February 2024, after more than a decade of experience working across private radiology, vascular medicine, pain management, and hospital radiology departments throughout the UK and Australia. Having seen the industry from every angle, our founders knew there was an opportunity to build something different: a Radiology practice designed around people, not profits.

From the very beginning, The Radiology Company has been practitioner-owned. There are no shareholders, no parent companies, and no corporate conglomerates influencing the way we deliver care. Instead, we've built our practice from the ground up with one guiding principle—put patients first.

That philosophy influences every decision we make. From recruiting experienced, compassionate staff to creating a welcoming environment and delivering high-quality diagnostic imaging, our focus has always been on achieving the best possible outcomes for every patient. Our team brings together professionals from diverse clinical backgrounds, united by extensive experience and a shared commitment to exceptional patient care.

Like many great stories, ours started small. In August 2024, operating under the name Pulse & Echo Ultrasound Solutions (which has since transitioned to The Radiology Company), we opened our very first practice in Kedron—a single ultrasound room with one practitioner and one ultrasound machine. Opening day was equal parts exciting and terrifying. A house had been sold, a city relocated, and a significant personal investment had been made to bring the vision to life. Yet, after all of that, our first day of trading ended with exactly zero patients. It was impossible not to question whether we'd made the right decision.

Thankfully, with patience, persistence, community outreach, and a willingness to do things a little differently, those early doubts soon disappeared. Our appointment books began to fill, referrals steadily increased, and we've never looked back.

Six months later came the next milestone. We expanded by opening an X-ray room within The Urgent Care Centre in Kedron, offering bulk-billed X-ray and ultrasound services for patients requiring urgent imaging. The response from the community was immediate. Patients gained access to fast, affordable imaging when they needed it most, and local GPs quickly recognised the difference.

Our commitment to diagnostic quality, clear communication, and genuinely caring interactions with both patients and referring clinicians became the foundation of our reputation. Within the first two years, we were proud to receive nothing but five-star Google reviews—a reflection of the trust our community has placed in us.

Walk-in urgent imaging presentations increased tenfold within six months, reinforcing our belief that when you put people first, growth naturally follows.

While outstanding diagnostic imaging is essential, we believe exceptional healthcare begins long before an examination starts.

From the very first day of sonography training in 2008, one lesson has remained at the heart of our philosophy: "Remember, above all else, to just be human."Those words have never felt more relevant than they do today.

We wanted to create something different—a practice where every patient is treated with dignity, kindness, respect, and genuine compassion. To us, people are never just appointments or referrals. Whether it's providing same-day urgent imaging, making appointments easy to arrange, maintaining our commitment to bulk billing wherever possible, or simply taking the time to listen, every decision is made with our patients at the center.
